With the boom of digital streaming, all sporting organizations have been presented with lucrative financial opportunities. We all know that pro sports teams have already caught-on and continue to seize such opportunities. Live and video streams have brought in extensive amounts of revenue for various sporting leagues around the world. Professional soccer, basketball and others have done nothing but embrace this technology trend.
Professional sports has also been fortunate in the sense that, a number of TV networks have invested 'heavily' in streaming platforms. By doing this, networks were still able to secure the licensing rights to bring games to the fans. Teams have been able to receive TV money via these networks with streaming platforms. Video and live streaming have come with a lot of advantages, especially for semi-pro and amateur teams. For the first time in history, teams that previously made no money from their sports operations, now have the ability to do so via streaming. By creating streaming websites, teams are able to make money by selling subscriptions to their supporters. One thing I can promise you is this; no one is more passionate about their hometown amateur sports team like the citizens of that specific town. That loyalty 'runs deep'! The fans of those teams really get behind their guys/ladies and show unconditional support towards them.
Now with all that being said, imagine how amazing it would be for fans to be able to watch their favorite teams live on their home ground, and on a streaming platform when they play away. In this way, they would never miss a game simply by subscribing to the teams streaming site. Subscription prices could be as low as $3-$5 per month. And all it would take for teams to implement this kind of streaming technology; is with the use of a smart phone or iPad. It's as easy as that!
Another monetizing method for teams could be advertising for brands on their websites. Local town businesses would be able to get great exposure through advertising on the team's live streams, during games. The future looks amazing for sports teams on all levels. It will be a great look to witness lower level teams making enough money to afford resources. Equipment and resources that will enable the team to perform at their best and hopefully at some point, level-up.
